Adenium obesum

Desert Rose. Floriferous fattie. Lots of showy pink flowers and the trunk base becomes a swollen wonder. Delicate plant, avoid cold or waterlogged soil, esp. in winter. Indoors only. Watch for insects.

5.Indoors OK, Outdoors not OK.

Nice combo of flowers and form.
This one was grown over a buried rock for several years, through judicious watering achieving the Trickle Down effect, then the rock was slowly revealed. The roots follow the rock shape exactly.
One sneeze and these are gone.
Not as showy as the new hybrids but a pretty flower nevertheless.
About 25 years old.
This is the muscular form, referring to the strong roots (not the struggling greenhouse assistant).
Much prettier picture.
Mike's plant had a major rot consuming it. We scooped out the rotting flesh....
....then we painted the exposed flesh with Bacseal.
Two weeks later it was potted up, and now it has an attractive sculpted grotto.....
...... large enough to shelter a hobo matchbox on a rainy night.
