Ferocactus rectispinus

Ferocactus are the slowgrowing, impressive Barrel Cacti from Mexico and adjacent deserts. They store water so well they need little watering esp. in winter. Prone to heat stress but also need bright light. Outdoors is risky.

4.Indoors OK, Outdoors OK only if protected from winter rain.

Handsome.
Spines to at least 12 cms.
Flower colour has two options in our specimens.
Option A
Option B.
Nice one.
Just before the toothpick harvester arrives.
Harvest complete.
Dead but still fascinating.
