Aloe erinacea

Rare and beautiful species from the diamond fields of Namibia. Mostly solitary spectacularly spinaceous rosettes to around 30cm across. Slow growing, indoors only in bright light.

5.Indoors OK, Outdoors not OK.

Wonderful spines often bizarrely hooked or in close pairs.
Fully exposed in the garden.
Emerging flowers on a 15 yo plant, the rosette is dichotomising (dividing into two).
Fully extended inflorescence.
Close up of raceme.
Later, seeds.
30cms is as big as they get.
Two-headed plant, not common.
The black-spined look is caused by stress, but it is actually very attractive for all that!
Nice clean big one.
